In Japan, elementary schools have about 30-40 kids in one class. What do you think about this? Do you think it is a good idea to have that many kids in one classroom with one teacher? Do you think it is a bad idea? Explain your answer.
I think it would not be such a good idea. I think it wouldn't be a good idea because they could be too many kids, and it could get rambunctious. The kids could also have so many friends that they would want to talk to during class but can't. Also, the teacher could have a hard time controlling that many kids.

I do not think this is a good idea. I don't think some of the teachers can handle so many kids! So let's say one person starts talking to another person, and then that person stars talking to another person, and then that person stars talking to another person, and so on. Also, some people might know only Japanese, or some only English, or some might speak both.

I think that it it a good, and bad idea. Bad, because if the kids get to wild it would be hard to control. Also, the teacher might forget their names. Good, because it will give the kids an opportunity to meet more friends. They can hear from different prospectives.

That is a horrible idea. I think that if there are to many kids that you can't control yourself. You are only focused on controlling the 30 or 40 students. If I were the principal of that school I would make a rule that only 25 or less kids can be in a class like our school. That would be a lot easier for the Japanese people. Konichiwa!

I agree with GC4. It would be very hard and chaotic for one teacher controlling about 30 or 40 kids! SS20 and CM15, I think Japanese people would be more respectful than to just start talking like that. Still, to inform and make sure everybody is in class. ES#18, the teacher might forget the student's names. True.
ReplyDeleteThis last comment was a great post...but who wrote it?
ReplyDeleteI think it would be a bad idea to have 40 kids in the class because if all of them were making noise it would be hard on the teacher. It would be too hard to tell them to stop. But, I think it would be a good idea to have 40 kids in the class so that the teacher and children could meet more friends. Another reason it would be good is so the children could experience another language if their friends spoke another language. Don't forget that it would be good for the children to listen to another persons perspective on their experience of Japan. mi 10
ReplyDeleteThats the worst idea in the world! Say that you have 40 children. They all are rude and disrespctful.Yikes! They would be a handful. I think 25 kids is even to much.E2
ReplyDeleteI think it would be a bad idea. The kids could get to rambunctious and the teacher would go crazy. Also, the schools should get more then one teacher per grade. Then they can control the kids better.

I think its a good and bad idea. I agree, ES#18. I think that they will get a better chance of meeting new friends. The only problem is that remember that the Japanese are very respectful, so they wouldn't go wild like you said.Since there's 40 kids in a class, no one gets a lot of attention,.

ReplyDeleteJapanese teachers probably need to speak loudly all day long, because their classrooms are so large. Hopefully, they don't have lots of headaches.
I agree with you ES18. Both is a good idea. Yes because you are able to meat other children and because more people learn at the same time. The teacher does not need to repeat stuff so often. Bad because maybe the kids can not control themselfs. Also because they might speek different languages. For example: the teacher speaks Japanese, and one kid speaks English, and another kid speaks French.

I think it would be a bad idea. That would be a lot of people to watch and keep track of.WoW!A good way is. That you would have plenty of people to take care of. NH#8
ReplyDeleteI think it is a good and a bad idea. It is a good idea because the students will have a chance to meet more friends. I also agree with ES#18 that the teacher will get frustrated and will forget the kids' names. Another reason it is a bad idea is that if one child has a problem, the teacher will not notice it and would not be able to take time to fix the problem. In addition, if there is a fire or an earthquake drill and student gets lost or hurt, the teacher cannot go and leave the children to get help.

If you have that many people you can't control the kids and yourself. If the class was talking they might need a megaphone. I would not like to do that. I think it would be outrageous. WK11
ReplyDeleteI think it's a bad idea because it's hard to learn with so many kids. It must be hard to get good grades. I think they should have more classes or less children. I think they must use a lot of paper. That all for now. SW 24#
ReplyDeleteWell, I think it is a good thing becasue I remember you saying that the Japaneese students don't call out so it would be okay. And waht NK#13 and RA#1 said was true. It would also be 8/16 bad becasue of what SS#20 said. And if the principal has to talk to about 25 kids it would be a problem. And maybe if one person coughs and asks for a cough drop others will like the idea and start to fake cough and ask for a cough drop to waste school time, and the teacher won't know who is really coughing or not, and let's say thata the school was from 1st grade-College and each class has 30-40 people, then if someone makes a problem noone will probably ever find out who made the problem.

I think that it may be a bad idea. Maybe the teacher can't handle all those children. But still, you told us that those children are very good and coopertive. My final decision is probably the teacher could handle all this after all.

ReplyDeleteI don't think it is a good idea. I don't think it is a good idea because that is an enormous amount of kids to keep control of. It is also a bad idea because the teacher will probably forget quite a few of the student's names. And if there was an emergency and a child had a problem or was hurt, the teacher probably won't notice quickly enough to be able to fix the problem
I think it is a bad idea to have that many students in one class. 1) Because I don't think the teacher will remember 30-40 of her students. 2) Because you can't reward individuals as much if you have 30-40 desks to look through to find a good student to point out to the class. 3) It can get very rambunctious. 4) When the teacher has to lead the students to other classes it will be very hard to keep all of them in line. 5) It's a lot harder to be good as a class and set good examples when there are 30-40 people to participate.

ReplyDeleteI don't think it would be a good idea to have no street signs because you wouldn't know were to go. Th reason it would be a good idea to not have street sign, is that you wouldn't have to go anywhere!!! HAHA!!! Another reason that it would be a bad idea is that if you wanted to go to Universal Studios, you couldn't because you wouldn't know how to get there.

I noticed that a lot of you said it would be hard. I agree that it would be difficult in the United States to teach 30-40 kids in one class. That is a lot of children under one teacher's control. In the US, children act differently than in Japan. Teaching that many children is not easy, but it is possible in Japan because the children are extremely well behaved and well mannered. Children do not interrupt adults and have a love for learning. It is not forced, but rather cherished.

I think it is a good thing and bad thing. The good thing is they would not have to pay so many teachers. The bad thing is that it would be really hard to teach all the students.
