Nara (This is an extra blog - you do not have to participate on this one if you do not want to!)
Today, I spent a wonderful day at Nara! This is my first official day in Japan. Watch the video on the website - Under Japan. Ask a question or make a comment about the pictures/movie.
SS 20, I am not sure about that question because I don't read Japanese comics. But I think you would be able to...it would make sense. I will try to look for a comic today and get back to you. TW(Teacher)
RA1: Shoes The shoes could hold a variety of different things. If you needed to use wires or wood to do something. They would stick the thing (wood, wires) between the toes and then would have their hands free to finish the job. I can give you an example tomorrow when we chat.
CK12: Questions Well, we will talk about the bathrooms on Thursday. I want all the kids to hear about it. I think it is interesting! Very eye opening for me. So we will talk about this on Thursday. I have more pictures too to show!
The stick I was putting in the fire was incense. I was holding it against the flame until the incense began to turn into ash. There is no flame but the incense is allowed to burn on its own. I was doing it as sort of an offering to the Buddhist religion.
The wood of the Pagoda looks hand-carved. As a side note, most times you will see odd number of levels.
Monday I would love to go to Australia to see the beautiful sights. It would be a honor to see the joeys and kangaroos. I think that I would be at their shopping stores immediately. Also to ride the amazing waves! NARLY DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! mi 10
CM 15: Actually it wasn't a bathroom I used - I just needed a picture of a Japanese bathroom. I didn't even realize there was something in it. **giggle** But, can you see how it is totally different than a bathroom we use. There is no seat! TW (teacher)
Don't you sometimes see pagotas in Japanese comics?

Why were you putting a stick on fire?
What kind of toilets do the houses/apt./hotels have?
What did the shoes help hold?
