MP18 - Animals is going to be a section where you put some of the neat/unique animals from this area. I will let you know more later. But here is a hint....CAMEL!
A - Yes, there are pools. But remind me on Wednesday to talk about the reflecting pool vs fountain. Very interesting.
AS22 - The flag information is on my website. Check it out! :)
Does the mall have Pokemon cards? I'm not sure, but I was just asking because I love Pokemon! Also, My dad is older than Dubai ( That dosen't mean he is old.) ! I hope that Mrs. Walker is OK. When is she coming back?
I wonder how many people there are in just Saudi Arabia... I also wonder if they have thing that we have, such as Television, computers, Air conditioning, cars, and other things we have in the USA!
I wonder how many people are in Saudi Arabia too. That is a different country than where I am visiting. How about someone look it up using one of my safe search engines.
Regarding people having tvs, air conditioning, etc. Yes people do.
But it is interesting here. There is a difference in the different working classes.
There are many people who work here from Philipeans, India, etc who do the hard labor. They send their money back to family members who still live in their country. They live in small apartments and get paid about $400 US. Even though you may think that is not a lot of money, it would be for them. They have their housing and food paid for by a company, and it is a good job. They might not be able to get a job like that back home.
There are teachers, bankers, managers of stores, and other jobs like that who make good money. They of course would have evey thing that you are accustom too.
If you would like me to go into more detail in person, remind me through Skype.
ZN 15, I haven't found Pokemon cards, but I did find today Hello Kitty Cards. I never even found those in the US. I will keep my eye out for them at the malls. Yes, I will be coming back to school next week!!! **Smile** I will see you tomorrow though when I teach! Miss all of you, TW(Teacher)
Yes they do celebrate some American holidays because of the expats. They did Halloween, Christmas (not religious) with trees and Santa. They call them Holiday Trees. They are doing Easter with the bunnies and eggs too. There is no 4th of July or Thanksgiving in November. Does anyone want to guess why? **Smile**
Is there any swimming pools for people? Are there any schools in the UAE? If there is schools is there homework? Is there zoos? IF there is was there animals in the zoo? AK9
Yes there are swimming pools. Most hotels and apartments have them.
Yes, there are schools in the UAE. Check out the website for my adventure at the British school.
Yes, there are zoos. There is one right by my apartment. I haven't had time yet to look at it. It is called the Emirates Zoo. Here is the website if you would like to see it. http://www.emiratesparkzoo.com Looks cool!
Does the UAE have most of the things that LA has? The UAE sounds so cool especially with all the Star Wars. That mall sound AMAZING I would love the heat so I could swim more. I really want to go to the UAE.
KO16, Yes, Dubai seems very much like home. Once you are in the mall, you sometimes forget you are away. Well, other than the abayas and dishdashs all around and the Arabic writing. **smile** Watch the video of the sights that I posted to website. Very similar, but some differences. TW(teacher)
Since my dad is excaltly as old as the UAE, were there comercials about a new country? Did they say to come to a new country but first of all Now there is a new country?
I bet they do advertise in European countries to come and visit. Tourism is going to big here. They want to be the "Vacation Place." That is why they are building up the area. Dubialand, theme parks, indoor theme parks, restaurants, aquariums, malls, tallest building in the world, man made islands, and largest mall in the world.....do you think people will come and visit?
Good question! One minute you are driving and all you see is desert and sand. The next second, you are in a busy city with tall buildings. Check out Google Earth. It is very fascinating.
Yes, I am doing a lot of fun things -souks, malls, mosques, museums, people watching, etc.
I am very lucky to be here for an extended amount of time. BUT, I am doing a lot of homework. **Smile** Late nights on skype, writing the website, commenting on blogs, and making videos...not easy - it takes a lot of time. But it is FUN!! I love it.
Are you having fun learning remotely? What are your thoughts on distance learning?
Are there 200 degrees deserts in the UAE. I want to know the population in the UAE. I think a lot. How much money does the UAE have. What's the currency.
Why is the UAE sooooooooooooooo hooooooooott! Can't it be regular temperature! That would be great. In Dubai, do you go shopping a lot. Is it expensive.
Is there supposed to be air condition?! How hot can the temperature get!? Is it fun being in hot weather? If the UAE was Los Angeles during the drought, would they collect the sweat because of how hot it is? That would be funny if they did!
I don't know if you answered this question, but have you found any dinosaur king cards yet? Hope so! Also, why can we only play inside when it's raining? It feels so unfair! Lastly, my blog didn't pop up yesterday because there was a problem.
That mall with 400 stores sounds cool!
